From concept to prototype

Engineering beyond the printed part.

Rhea is an example use case for our drone design services. The engineering scope connects mechanical design with performance calculations, structural modelling and electronic integration.

01 / Design

CAD & mechanical development

Parametric airframes, component assemblies, payload mounts and enclosures. Designed around fit, assembly, maintenance and manufacturing constraints.

02 / Calculate

Aeronautical calculations

Mass budgets, centre of gravity, propulsion sizing and power requirements to explore payload and estimated endurance trade-offs.

03 / Analyse

Finite element modelling

Defined load cases, stresses and deformation to inform structural design, with consideration for material properties and print orientation.

04 / Integrate

Electronic design & integration

Circuit and PCB design, power distribution, sensor interfaces and connections between flight control and payload systems.

Open-source direction

Designed to be shared and developed.

CAD files, printing resources and documentation are planned for release. Repository details and licensing will accompany the published files.

Did you know?

A little credit for birds that can’t fly.

We name our drones after flightless birds, starting with Rhea. It’s our way of giving these birds some recognition—and taking their names to the skies.

Let’s give them some credit.
